I’m a big boardgame fan. I got Hokito as a gift from a good friend, and immediately loved it. As we are both competetive, I decided to make an algorithm for it. Surprizingly, there was no excisting algorithm for this game. To share it with the world, I made a webapp for it!

I made Monolith, an online version of the board game Hokito.
I’m very proud on the algorithm, and the optimisations I could make on my first version. The layout is also pretty good, still I think there will be my next improvements. I really learned a lot (also on how chess engines work and optimize, very very interesting).

I’m working on a demo for Monolith. It’s the online version of a board game Hokito. Not everyone knows that game, so the tutorial will make that clear.

Today, I made my algorithm 8.8% faster! If you calculate the best move x, you automatically calculate a part of move x+1. Previously, all that progress was being deleted, but now it uses that. Preview link in the first comment.

I’m working on Monolith, an awesome and fan-made online version of the game Hokito. I finished the minimax engine (in optimized rust), and am now working on the webapp. I want user vs user, user vs bot, and a way to analyse your games.
