VACCUM ENGINE

I am currently developing a vacuum engine that will be able to run off of the vacuum. I will try and reduce the amount of external parts like bearings and screws so people will a 3d printer and basic tools will be able to print and play with it.

Devlog 4: I have printed out all of the different parts and assembled them, as you can see down the bottom there is a black piece of filament holding the connecting rod to the crank. The knob that is on the end of the crankshaft is a key way for a flywheel to allow it to spin with the axle. It needs the flywheel to take keep the momentum. when the piston gets sucked up the valve will come down and let air in. On this stroke the piston is no powered at all and if not for the flywheel, it will stop. The crank all spins smoothly and if the first big step in this project. I am now designing the main body that will house the crank and the piston.

I am have now finished the con rod for the piston and have a pin to connect the two. The two other little pieces are going to connect the con rod to the crank that is soon to come. The pin will be held in with a little piece of filament about 5mm long. The whole idea of this vacuum engine to be able to assemble and run it without much other hardware (nuts, bolts and ball bearings).

I have finished making the piston for the vacuum engine. It is going to have a wrist pin to hold the connecting rod. it is 30mm in diameter and is 40mm tall.
