BLACKHAWK is a high school rocketry project focused on developing an actively controlled model rocket for competition. The system combines custom hardware and software to achieve stable and precise flight. The rocket integrates custom PCBs, thrust vector control (TVC), airbrakes, and a real-time flight computer. A state machine manages each phase of flight, while dual-axis PID control stabilizes the rocket during ascent by gimbaling the motor. Airbrakes are used to regulate altitude and descent. This project brings together mechanical design, embedded systems, and control theory in a fully integrated, competition-ready system.
