Devlog #3

GOOOD MIDNIGHT PROGRAMMERS,

I can’t provide a visual update right now since I haven’t yet run an eas build for my app to check if everything is doing fine (and also because my phone dropped into a pool and I need to get it fixed).

The previous devlog that I made has a lot of holes in the words “complete” because a lot of those weren’t carefully checked. I’ve been working on the backend development more for the app and less on the frontend to focus on the features for the app, I was also thinking of a desktop sync where you could also download a version for PC/Mac, but I’ll share more on that on the next devlog.

The time that I spent for this devlog is spent fixing errors and efforts on actually trying to “complete” the app for shipping. I’m also having a wild decision choice, since I plan to also ship this app to playstore and app store but considering the repositories for shipping on stardance may require for it to be public, I genuinely don’t know what to do.

(pic below is a pic from last devlog) :))

Hey professional programmers, its been 15 days since my last developer log and a lot of confusing stuff has happened to the project.

I have been focusing on the backend development of the app after the last developer log and managed to complete the development of the AI proof checker where the AI checks your completed task/habit to verify for points to use in the gacha system. It worked like a charm and I felt so proud that day I completed it.

Next, continuing on the development on its features, I completed tasks that add, and personal courses that you can create. It was all a fun experience and so after that I started polishing the frontend a bit.

The downfall of this project happened after the frontend changes were added, considering the files were a mess and everything was not in order, only relying on the “it works, I don’t know why, but it works” instinct, the project fell apart, and the progress was slower than being actually considered as in development. The easy solution that I thought of was to arrange the files properly and delete unnecessary folders that were bloating my project. In the end I decided to start over with a new project because an large amount of the files I had contained converted code from when it used to be a website for school that I wanted to use personally. I started all over and focused on a mock frontend design that I was satisfied with before starting the backend again. here are some pictures of the mock design. Feedback is greatly appreciated.

Hey professional programmers, I am creating a productivity app that mixes folderly, duolingo, and a gacha system that makes keeping track of subjects and doing requirements more rewarding.

I am currently in development, the screenshots you see is the project so far, any comments and suggestions for this app would be appreciated:) Happy programming everyone!
