Hi! I built Tide! Tide is like a smart ring that tracks your health metrics, and you can even play games with it. What I really wanted to start with this was that I really wanted an aura ring or something like that, but those are really expensive, right? I kind of searched other things online, and one thing I came across was this one guy’s video on how he reprogrammed a smart ring from China. I ordered my own one from China for about $4, and it’s really cool. I was planning to just use it normally, but on that guy’s video, he also said he reprogrammed it, so I wanted to do something really similar.

Once I got it, before even downloading the app, I tried learning how to reprogram it, but all the Bluetooth protocols and stuff are very complicated. There’s this one public repository called Pulse Loop, which I owe credits to because they helped me make the Bluetooth protocol from a random ring company actually work. Tide now can track my health metrics and my sleep, and it’s really simple because it’s just a ring that sits on my finger. I don’t have to keep charging it, and the battery life is really good.

I did not make the ring. I owe all credits for the ring to the manufacturer, and I did not design all the Bluetooth protocols. I owe that to Pulse Loop.

Other than that, the app itself was where I got a lot of inspiration. I wanted to make a really cool UI, so it’s like a liquid glass UI built in Swift, and all of your data stays on your phone, so there’s no backend for it. It’s a very simple app. It just uses Bluetooth and connects to the ring, and if you want, you can use it.

Please do not copy my exact code. You can change it up, but you can have the same Bluetooth protocols, etc. I hope you enjoy the project. I was not able to upload a demo video because it is a hardware project, and you really can’t test the app without an actual Tide ring. I’ve just uploaded a video from Google Drive if you want to see if you want to demo it. If you have any questions, please ask me. If anything else, please ask me. That’s been a lot of time making this. It was definitely one of my harder projects, but it was definitely worth all the effort, in my opinion. I also think that this is something that I’m going to keep using, and I want to make sure that if anybody else wants to use something similar, you can also buy the ring. I’ll give the reference points at the bottom.

Credits to: https://github.com/saksham2001/PulseLoopiOS for the BLE protocol

I figured out something really cool the ring has motion tracking so if i tap my fingers together it can do stuff, on the current app it comes with it can take photos so I spent some time implementing something similar on my app.

I added a new section to view your vitals i added more after comparing with my apple watch, took a long time to tuning it correctly so the data would be accurate and good, I also wanted to add some more vitals like the oura ring but most are just estimates although they work fairly well

I made a personal website about me. using React 19, TypeScript, and Vite that showcases my projects and personal work. Even though I’m not a designer, I tried making the UI and the UX for this website feel as cool as possible. In my opinion, this is probably one of the best UIs I’ve created of all my projects. I also really, really like the smooth scroll animations that I made through a horizontal parallax and a lenis. There’s also even scroll trigger text reveals, magnetic cards, and animated carousels using Tailwind CSS for styling. I even made a really cool dark and light mode system, but the really challenging part about it was making the timeline work with all of the photos and everything. The cool animations are something I wanted, but that took a little while to make it also optimized for phone, and that’s probably about it. I really wanted to create a really awesome polished system, so try my project. If you like it, please reach out to me for feedback or anything, and you can contact me directly from the website

Hi I finally finished my first CSS+HTML website, I was learning a long the way and started with a super simple static page, then I added more pages, mostly figuring out the CSS was hard for me I would say, the html was straight forward, the website is for a mobile app I made called TapLock, which you can download, it basically requires an NFC card and locks ur phone like screentime, if you want to install it its right on the website.

I made Om daily, a way to understand hindusim through little games, like duolingo but for religion. But its not jsut learning there are daily quotes of the Bhagavad Gita, a famous book of hinduism, and all 700 verses in the backend. This was my first ever mobile app make in react native with the expo framework and it was a challenge getting started, I didnt really understand how most of it worked like devlopement servers, stuff like that. But over time I learned a lot about how to actualyl code and use a backend. another thing, this was my first ever project with a backend so I used supabase as my backend and I learned how to do Oauth, store users information safely. The app itself is packed with so many features and going forward I really want to improve on it more and more!

Finally finished the Figma prototype of the home page, spent like 6~7 ish hours undocumented on procreate and affinity 😭😭. took some inspiration from @supercoolcodinggirl’s name font. Tomorrow I will take a break from this project and complete the webOS project so I don’t get burnt out.
