it’s been a long long time since my last devlog, that can be accounted to illness, major life changes, and other issues. paused the usb driver for now since i only had qemu available and the remaining issues need actual hardware. spent this time adding timer interrupts and a tick counter, which promptly broke disk access because the bios thunk and the new interrupt setup disagreed about what machine they were running on. several rounds of debugging later it boots again. also consolidated the basic interpreter and its six statement fragments into one file, shared some duplicated assignment and load/save code, and cleaned up keyword matching. primes and scrtest both pass after the rewrite; snake still doesnt, but it never did. checked the old bootmeta build issue too, which appears to have already been fixed. about 11 hours (sorry gizzy again) accumulated across implementation, debugging and testing, not 11 hours of new features. this will be the end of Borealis on Stardance, i’ll try to ship in the next few hours and if i’ll be feeling up to it i may continue working on another HC program.
