You turn on focus support, tell it which websites distract you, and optionally pick what you’re working on to get gentle nudges when you linger too long on those sites. You can allow a site for your current task, dismiss a reminder to get back to work, finish tasks through the day, and later review how you spent your time to stay accountable.

REGAINING YOUR FOCUS ONE STEP AT A TIME!!!

I keep opening my laptop to work and somehow ending up on YouTube 10 minutes later.

So I started building Élan, a cross-platform momentum app designed to notice when you drift and gently pull you back.

The first working MVP is Élan v0: a passive Mac focus companion + Chrome extension.

Right now, it can:

  • Let you pick a task and distracting websites.
  • Detect when you spend 5+ seconds on one of those sites.
  • Send a gentle reminder instead of blocking anything.
  • Give you 30 minutes of task-free browsing, plus 15 minutes after dismissing a reminder.
  • Track aggregate focus time, reminders, and completed tasks.
