This is my very own OS that can be run in the web!
This is my very own OS that can be run in the web!
Finally! Renamed simply Notes by Cosmic Journal, made navigation for it and added some text. Moving content to JS was the only challenge. Used Claude for troubleshooting and Gemini a little for designs and adapting the code from the instruction for my project (however, its visual needs some update), especially in the last part (navigation and JS content).
Finally! I fixed the main problem with dragging and closing the windows. I haven’t completed my notes app, so it looks really raw and… empty. However, now it will be easier for me. And honestly, I only used Claude for troubleshooting, debugging and making the code easier to read, especially for this issue, but nothing more than that!
Today, I was working on my first app for the OS. I guess I didn’t fully understand the instructions for Jam Part-4, as my code for window dragging and closing stopped working for both the Notes app window and the Welcome screen (it was working for the Welcome screen until I added the app code). I’m not sure what I should do to fix it yet, even after asking Gemini, but I’ll try to debug and fix it today. If you have any solutions, please leave them in the comments!
Made its visual slightly more interesting - added a gif wallpaper insted of png. Also added a handle for Welcome screen
Finally finished making window openable, closable and, of course, draggable. I spent most of the time fixing some text bugs and how the Welcome window appeared when opened. Next step is to create my first app
Just finished making top bar and desktop, time track and also defining my welcome window. It’s hard to read the code, so next time I will move styles to CSS file and scripts to JS file. Also, I will make windows movable, openable and closeable
Just finished making my Welcome Screen. It seems awkward at the moment, but I will be upgrading it every day till shipping. Tomorrow I will update its visual appearance
