Finally! Renamed simply Notes by Cosmic Journal, made navigation for it and added some text. Moving content to JS was the only challenge. Used Claude for troubleshooting and Gemini a little for designs and adapting the code from the instruction for my project (however, its visual needs some update), especially in the last part (navigation and JS content).

Finally! I fixed the main problem with dragging and closing the windows. I haven’t completed my notes app, so it looks really raw and… empty. However, now it will be easier for me. And honestly, I only used Claude for troubleshooting, debugging and making the code easier to read, especially for this issue, but nothing more than that!

Today, I was working on my first app for the OS. I guess I didn’t fully understand the instructions for Jam Part-4, as my code for window dragging and closing stopped working for both the Notes app window and the Welcome screen (it was working for the Welcome screen until I added the app code). I’m not sure what I should do to fix it yet, even after asking Gemini, but I’ll try to debug and fix it today. If you have any solutions, please leave them in the comments!

Final Update! I finally finished working on this project by adding 4 new useful features. The main challenge was to fix API bugs and coming up with new features. I’m proud of myself for finishing this simple project that was build from scratch. To test the project, go read the README - I fully explained everything there. See you all in my next project!

Today I added 4 new useful commands. After reading a commnet on my Ship #2 mentioning that this bot mainly has entertainment commands, I added USEFUL features you can use on a daily basis. I think this is my final update and after Ship #3 I’m going to focus on another project

As I promised added Pomodoro timer and weather check. I think wttr.in is simple and not always correct but it’s better than nothing. All the commands work correctly and I am proud of it

I updated my Slack bot and added one new feature that delivers a random quote with its author to inspire you. There was almost no challenge because code for quote and joke command were absolutely identical. Also, I restored /novabot-help so you can see all the available commands.

Added one new feature and restored the /novabot-help command. I will probably add Pomodoro timer and weather check function later

Finally finished making window openable, closable and, of course, draggable. I spent most of the time fixing some text bugs and how the Welcome window appeared when opened. Next step is to create my first app

Just finished making top bar and desktop, time track and also defining my welcome window. It’s hard to read the code, so next time I will move styles to CSS file and scripts to JS file. Also, I will make windows movable, openable and closeable

I made my personal portfolio website, which will showcase all my interests, goals, and works so far. The most challenging part for me was structuring HTML code because I’ve never used it before. I am very proud of myself for making this website from zero.

I was trying to fix /novabot-help command, which worked yesterday. I’ve tried to regenerate App token, rewrite the code, but it didn’t work. Consequently, I deleted this command and shipped only the working ones

Just finished making my Welcome Screen. It seems awkward at the moment, but I will be upgrading it every day till shipping. Tomorrow I will update its visual appearance

I built NovaBot, a NestJS/TypeScript Slack bot usin Socket Mode and Axios for external API data. The main challenge was configuring Slack API authentification and setting up environmental variables cleaanly. I’m most proud of structuring a complete application from scratch with 4 working commands and a clear README. To test it, clone repo, run npm install, add your SLACK_BOT_TOKEN and SLACK_APP_TOKEN to a .env file, and start it with node index.js.

Built the /novabot-joke and /novabot-catfact commands using Axios for API requests. The trickiest part was configuring Slack’s Socket Mode in NestJS so the bot could receive payload events instantly without setup of a public webhook endpoint. After a few structural adjustments with the @slack/bolt lifecycle, all four slash commands are responding with 0-1ms delay
