This is OutreachDB! It’s not super finished right now; but the basic premise is that it’s a platform for Nonprofits (the main target is FIRST teams) to be able to find outreach opportunities within their local area, and facilitate connections with other nonprofits. Right now, we have a custom compiled list of nonprofits but in the future we’re hoping to have a whole platform where nonprofits can connect with one another, list themselves, track connections, and more. Right now there’s a FastAPI and SQLite backend (will switch to postgres with scale), and a SvelteKit frontend. We have basic auth, opportunity indexing, SEO, and a map of opportunities. Since the last update, I’ve added a map that shows teams where they can find outreach opportunities, and improved the individual event page. The map was hard because I needed to learn about leaflet and how to style it, and make it work cleanly with svelte.

Working on this project for my FIRST robotics team that indexes outreach opportunities (opportunities to help out within the community and beyond). Right now it’s just a basic “create events” and “view events” with rather crude styling, but as it develops it’ll have much more features. At some point, it’ll feature cloudflare web scraping to automatically find events.
