ChronoStack is a mechanical-optical display system that stores multiple visual states within a stack of rotating transparent discs. Each disc contains carefully arranged radial masks and segments. By changing the relative positions of the discs, different images emerge from the same physical volume.
The disks are stackale and ready but stacking them on the gears makes it a huge tolerance pain and this is unfortunately all i will be able to ship. I wont stop trying tho!

All disks now have the slits at their required angles (8deg black 2deg clear). I got the sheets printed out rather than painting them in because, well..
Made the first disks from acrylic with a scalpel, pliers and sandpaper T_T. Also stuck the gears to the servos with epoxy clay.
I received my 3D printed and electronics parts finally! I’ve made some basic working code to fetch time from ntp servers and use them to set the servos to a set angle. Now I gotta hook up the ESP electrically to check if everything works. Wish me luck!!
Code is updated on my GitHub. I know its not optimised and thats just how i like it :P

This thing is so cool! I love jump hour watches and this really does take it to the next level. While I am going to approve this, I would like to see links added to your BOM.
Additionally--it's possible to put a gif in a github readme! I suggest that you do that rather than have people go to a YouTube video. When you make a readme, expect that nobody is going to click a link. Put the cool animation front and center. Made G-code files for attempting to use a cnc milling machine to cut out the main gears. Wish me luch cuz i gotta figure out the cnc software now

Finally got the gear ratios and teeth intertwined properly. I duplicated the thing and I’m starting to animate it. Soon posting the video demo link. stay tuned!
Sketched the to-scale designs for the sheets, made about 6 sheets of sketches for reference for the upcoming 3D Modelling. Give or take, consider it an idea 70% done. Gears to be drawn. The sketches align well, with a common center.

Fixed the tilt by tilting the numbers independently. All 4 sheets are done!! Next up is modelling how to move the pieces individually (more CAD T-T)
Made all of the required disk on Affinity. I tried to do a test with all the layers within the app. Soon realisted that i need to angle every layer so that the numbers dont look crooked. Gotta redesign the entire thing again (yay)

I probably have to remake the entire thing as there are tolerance issues from making the pie slices in blender. gaining some momentum finally
Finished the Template in blender then moved on to start modelling each of the disks. I got two numbers working till now. Will make the rest with a bit more time.
Went back to blender to make a much better prototype of the transparent disk with the pie slices. I should really learn CAD
Made a rough prototype of 1/4 of the transparent sheets with the arcs on OnShape. Will try to further improve, if I struggle I might just go back to Blender. (I’m new to CAD T-T)
