I'm creating a mousepad where a grid of hall effect sensors are embedded to detect any magnet. This aims to make a super lightweight mouse that only has a magnet as the mouse.

CAD for Mouse and prototype.

  1. CAD for Mouse
  • Simple casing for the magnet to go in
  • Compliant mechanism to work as a click
  1. Prototype
  • Prototyped on breadboard
  • Successfully connected 3 SS49E sensors to each of the analog input in the pico

I finished the PCB and case design. I kept the case simple since it is just supposed to function as a mouse pad.

I had to fix the footprint for the hall effect sensor (SS49E) because it was designed to have the pads too close to each other for manufacturing.

In the process I had to reroute the copper to accommodate the new footprint.

I worked on the PCB design after fixing the symbol for the hall effect sensor.
