devlog #2: been working on the header, the form and the help page, anyways theres a bit more to fix like making the form look good and the help button and then i can finally move on to the final step, making the AI responsive

Just finished building my hackpad!! Let’s gooo!!
It’s finished!
I’m back guys, I know it’s been like 2 months and I apologize, I really procrastinated on finishing this project. So… where do I begin?
I finished wiring the components. For the buttons I designed and printed a panel to house them all. The voltage divider circuit that outputs the battery voltage also got moved inside of the button panel, before the whole thing was sealed off with hot glue.
Using a dremel, I hollowed out little pockets of the fake book to make the screen fit and to add a hole to charge. Everything fits snugly inside of the case. The battery is behind the screen, the microcontroller is propped up on a custom 3d printed piece so the FPC cable of the screen isn’t getting bent violently. The microcontroller, buttons, and battery are all held in by velcro, while the screen is held in simply by a tight fit and the micro SD card reader is attached by mere wires so it can move freely and be easily accessed. All this together means that the entire electronic system can be ripped out, which is super helpful in case of future changes.
On the software side of things, I didn’t have much to add. The screen now hibernates after five minutes of inactivity to preserve battery life. The book storage system isn’t exactly where I want it to be, but I can’t really work on it because my micro SD card reader died :(. This also means I can’t load books onto it yet, but once I can it will be 100% operational!
That’s really all there is to say, see you guys at the ship!
devlog #1: been so busy lately, first devlog in a long long time anyways i started small i wish i could do more to make it look better but unfortunately i lack time:( how yall been tho?
Devlog #10: UPDATE it finally works, I changed the firmware and the car actually works!! I had a lot of issues like the mantler breaking and the wheels falling off the paint wearing off, but we did it! This is probably the last time I touch it before it breaks haha! It was super fun to make tho no matter how frustrating it was it’s always been fun:) also i think my HC05 is fake idk
Devlog #9: just added the arduino board and made my L298N work! Don’t get me wrong the screwing part is so hard bc the wires just did NOT want to come together but hey, progress
devlog #5: debugged the bot and now im about to ship it to see what people think:)
devlog #21: OH MY GOD I WAS TRYING TO ORGANIZE MY FILES BY PUTTING THEM IN FOLDERS AND I LOST EVERYTHING HOLY COOKED
devlog #20: now I finished setting up the snake game, i still have problems with my weather API setup, ill fix it by the next devlog, but i did listen to a review and made a feature in settings functional hehe anyways not much intel in this devlog other than that, going to be adding more soon! look forward to seeing either a terminal or a car racing game next devlog:)
devlog #19: I vibecoded and made my javascript a LOT shorter, i tried doing the same for my css but it couldnt work so ima live with it, anyways i watched 2 youtube tutorials, i made my snake game and styled it, and my weather app but its still not working for some reason, maybe ill use AI to debug cause its frustrating me i tried everything but first im going to wait for my friend to respond to see if he can help, also going to add a car game suggestion by a very talented person👀👀👀👀 anyways im going to sleep now cause im tired i havent slept all day, ill code later and for the record i only made the games on a seperate files i havent connected them to my OS yet
devlog #18: so the code is getting longer and longer which is making it harder to code, if anyone has any tip pls let me know and also, i learned how to make a weather app so next devlog ill show the full product, im also planning on adding a snake game and maybe a bit more? idk yet
devlog #17: I finally fixed the functionality of my settings, the apps in the “apps” section can now also change color, the display can change sizes and the clock can be switched between 24 hour clock to the 12 hour clock one! however the 12 hour clock one is the default so.. we’re done with the settings feature tho! now it’s time to add more apps
devlog #16: LESS GOO I GOT MY TIME BACK also guys i made the apps go light aswell, i hate light mode but someone suggested it on my reviews so i guess here u go
devlog #15: bro im so mad, they didnt count ALL my work im actually so mad ive been coding for 7 hours now and on stardance only 1 counts barely even one i hate this and everything about this omg and iit literally even shows the hackatime as 43hrs LOGGED, anyways i made a settings feature i guess its functional
devlog #14: okay so, i shipped my project for the second time but i got changes requested, for this specific page and in this devlog im just letting you guys know ima work real hard on this feature and finish it by tonight then ill add more apps and we’ll see what we make after that but it wont be easy so wish me luck:)
Devlog #8: so bad news, the wheels weren’t wired correctly so they couldn’t really move, I had to do the whole redesign and I accidentally froze the switch in place by using glue to stick it to the platform bad idea aswell, so I just swapped it out with a new one, now I’m debating whether I should change the microcontroller from arduino to esp32 but I’m prob gonna use arduino since I spent more money on the esp32 and I might need it for more important projects
