Macropad

Ship #1 Pending review

WhimsyBoard is a 4*3 Macropad with a Rotary encoder and a oled screen mapped for the optimal Music control, programming and automation macros in mind. The board allows you to have two Dynamic macros to record and play. The board also has the 12th key (bottom right) set to move layer for more customization without ruining the original layout

The name comes from people calling my whimsical and the logo is just a svg from svgrepo that reminds me of my blahaj plush
The board has some Sabrina Carpenter and Tate McRae lyrics sprinked in since they are the artists i listed to most while making this

The hardest part for me was EVERYTHING except the schematics

- making the schematic was almost peaceful except finding footprints and importing them

- Routing the pcb is an art IT took my atleast 5 revision on lapse and outside of it to Get a decent routing and i had to remap the pins enough times to make everything look presentable

- CAD was genuine hell since it was my first time and i didnt know much abt the fusion eventually shifted to onshape aft learning basics from trying and failing in fusion Decided to make an open case since its alr very packed and i want the Copper Text to shine

Whimsy board IS FINALLY COMPLETE
Firmware was honestly hell with the build times and sparse (im also not that smart) and sometimes confusing QMK documentation
CAD WAS HELLLL Took so long to even understand how to even start but eventually moved to onshape which was MUCH easier
Schematic was the best and the most delulu stage imagining your board and how simple it is to make smth like this and then you find out why they cost so much aft
PCB routing is a diff hell i have a new sense of appreciation for every single pcb that exists so simply w no vias
