I finished building the base for the echo slack bot, following this tutorial was more trouble than I excepted, but that's what makes this project worth more. Going through the steps required some troubleshooting and downtime, but it was all worth it. Echo currently does the bare minimum but I do have a vision for what it could be in the future, im putting echo out there just to get started somewhere and im excited to continue working on Echo!

Today I finished the bare minimum working model for the Echo Slack bot!

While I didn’t add anything special, I do have extreme plans to make echo a slack powerhouse!

This project was extremely fun to work on and I learn a lot of key features and how to use slack.

This log will be the first of many as I slowly but surely make echo into the most efficient and important slack bot!

Existing features:
✅ /dsb-ping-echo: This checks the latency of the connection
✅ /dsb-catfact-echo: Echo is very into cats and loves sharing new fun facts!
✅ /dsb-joke-echo: In Echo’s lighthearted manner, he will tell an extremely old Joke
✅ /dsb-help-echo: this command is going to be especially useful later down the line when more commands are being used

Future Implementations:
📥 Context clues: Echo will be able to respond based on the context of the last message
📥 Truth telling: Echo will have access to a magic 8-ball to see the future
📥News: Echo will have access to the latest news updates to stay up-to-date on the world
