I built Slacky-Whacky a Slack bot with a reluctant personality that'd rather not be helping you, but does anyway. The biggest challenge was wrapping my head around how Slack bots actually work under the hood: the event model, OAuth scopes, and getting the bot to respond correctly to messages. I'm proud of giving it a distinct personality that makes interactions feel a bit more entertaining than your average bot. To test it, just join the channel in the demo link and send it a slash command like /slacky-help and it'll respond, albeit a bit begrudgingly.
