upcycling an old MacBook Pro.

Ship #1 Pending review

Up-cycling an old MacBook Pro to a custom cyber deck! In this project I built my own custom retro cyber deck Theme.

I intend to use this cyber deck as my personal test lab. The Computer I am working with is a 2012 MacBook Pro (currently running parrot home). Its capabilities are limited, with 4 GB of RAM (which I want to upgrade to 8GB). That means I cannot run heavy programs or perform demanding tests on this machine.

(honestly I also think it look really cool and makes great decoration :3)

I learned a lot new things and also refined other skills. Even though I didn’t invest a lot of time. Every project has its own purpose.

I was really excited about this project and I am really proud on how this turned out. It’s a very simple project. Due to lack of time I couldn’t finish the project fully. In the future when I feel bored I might pick up on it and add some additional features.

Finished to Top HUD

I have arranged the CPU and RAM graphs to be on top instead of under the line.

This way it looks more neat.

This is it for the HUD

Retro HUD in progress…

For this Cyber Deck I am thinking of a more retro aesthetic, I think it fits well with the old MacBook Pro I am using for this project.

Currently I am working on a interactive HUD that also shows live specs like RAM or CPU usage.

Took me quite a while to get this look because of some troubleshooting and also typos. As this is my first project I still have lots to learn.

Changing the colors of the Terminal

My current goal is to customize the Operating System on my old Mac.

For now I finished the Terminal.
