I made Leap and Sleep, a personal website designed with a universey spacey theme. You can explore the site and a little more about me each time. The most interactive part I built was the ‘Journey’ page, where you fly aboard the Milano (inspired by the Guardians of the Galaxy), visit different planets (some from gotg) and get a small piece of information about me. There is also a small chatbot on the contact page where u can ask it questions about me (i’m new to building a chatbot so it can only answer few basic questions atm).
The hardest part was figuring out how to make everything work together. I was still a beginner in HTML and CSS when I started. There was a lot of trial and error (mostly errors, CSS positioning was my biggest enemy😭).
I’m kinda proud that i was able to build this site from scratch. I’ve learned a lot through the process. I’ll take any feedback for my project and I hope to improve it even further.

Removed plenty of bugs and added a new page called journey.html. It’s inspired by Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy. In this interactive page you can take the milano out for a ride, visit planets(some from the gotg universe) and find a little piece of information about me! Simply click on the milano on the top right on the nav bar. Had plenty of fun working on this page.

Major additions today! I added a couple of easter eggs to my site. They’re still very buggy but i do feel good about them since i started learning HTML so very recently. I learned about collisions in js and more css selectors and how one dot can make nothing work. Hopefully you’ll be able to catch some of my easter eggs once i ship….toooodles!

Major improvements today! I added interactive stars to the home page and changed up most of the colours, images and gifs. there are little glow effect here and there. I added clickable information (the objects in art and craft page now respond to clicks and play little animations). I love it! Tomorrow ill work on a chatbot for the contact me page that answers questions about me!

worked on making it more interactive today. The photography page now has buttons to move to the prev and next page. Also on the home page, I added a little glow effect on one of the buttons and now the logo image has a little hover effect as well. I added little stars on the home page to interact with the cursor but it still needs work.

Deployed! I have deployed my personal site. It’s a little small with an about me, art and craft page, photography and a contact me page. I have included 3 artworks and 3 photos but i will definitely include more soon. I also plan to include my personal coding projects and write a little more about me(so far it’s just one tiny paragraph). But hey! I think it’s a great start to something amazing.

wow. the site looked like a mess initially. All the sizes of the logos and the images were off. The font sizes too. I made the bg and the logo using canva. I think the colour scheme needs some work. It’s kinda hard to read. But it’s progress! It’s a huge difference from what the site looked like yesterday. It looks a little bit more like…well me :) Definitely need to work on the css more i think thats my weak point. but i think im ready to deploy. Excited!

Hey all, I thought I’d give learning HTML a go. I already have a website but that’s made with Wordpress and a free template. I wanted to design a portfolio website completely from scratch to my liking. I may retain some of the content from the WordPress site but the design would be my own. I have some experience with Canva and I plan on using it at some point. But I have to get a hand of the HTML and CSS part (being a complete beginner). Looking forward to learning!
