Preparing to ship! This is the most detailed Readme I think I have ever written.
That’s the whole script that I sent in the last devlog running. Everything seems to be factored nicely. Will now try to ship.
Entering test phase. Longest script I ever wrote in BASIC.
Working on refactoring the code and commenting it all in. It was a random thought I had - honestly should do this commenting + refactoring more.
I thought I would never get it done, but it’s there. I’ve got loops working in the interpreter.
Boolean statements and inputs now work in the interpreter!
The expressions that can be evaluated increased! I also realized I’m writing an interpreter for a language in an interpreted language, which is a weird thing to think about.
So I’ve gotten some more methods in: LET, PRINT, evaluate expressions mathematically, and GOTO. Nice.
I had to completely revamp the whole damn architecture because nothing was calling each other right, so much so I had to go and actually do research about how actual computer-interpreter relations work. All this damn work wasn’t for a new feature, it was just to de-spaghettify the insane logic. At last, it runs… at least a bit.
Implemented a function that creates .txt files for users to write BASIC scripts in; next step will be the hard part, which is to make the interpreter.
First working towards a proper login, then going to implement the keywords of BASIC one by one in a bit of an emulator way.
