There’s a storage system now! almost… Anyway. I’ve been working pretty hard on building a pretty cool storage system for storing your language. I wanted it to be: platform agnostic, easily human modifiable, efficient, and future-proof. I achieved platform agnostic by using the lovely directories crate. For human-modifiable, I used toml, also making each word into a separate file for ease of use. For efficiency, I implemented a system for only writing to modified words when the program closes, rather than re-adding every single word. Finally, for future-proof, I made sure to leave space for more fields in the future.
This is my first devlog. I’ve been working on a program called conlang classifier for a while, which is a tool to help create and classify your constructed languages (or non-constructed languages). The current set of features isn’t particularly comprehensive, but I aim to expand it.
The topic of this devlog is the search bar. I’ve written code for a search feature before, but I wanted this one to be a lot faster. I would say I got closer, but there are still improvements to be made. Some re-computations are uneeded. I feel like I’ve done enough for now though.
