Created firmware for oxide keys which uses rust and it took me some time to understand embedded hal but it worked well with the pico W that i am using.

Hiya, it's very cool that you wrote the firmware in rust!

Others looking to recreate your project may not want to unzip your firmware source files (because they may not trust them), try not to upload zip files.

A beginner should be able to find their way around your repo quite quickly, which is currently not really the case. Use our guide as a reference for a more approachable repository layout: https://stardance.hackclub.com/resources/shipping-hardware

Thanks!

Hi great work here! Before i can approve this you need to change a few things first! First please add your CAD files as .step, a production folder with your, cad, firmware and gerber.zip! Lastly add some pictures of ur CAD into ur read mee!! :D

Have been working on creating the PCB board. I used freerouter which is an advanced auto router and it helped a lot and saved time and also had to manage a lot of DRC errors.

Have been working on schematics and fixing a lot of errors in the meantime. I am new to working on KiCad so I had to do a lot of research about it as well but I definitely learned a lot which I am happy about so that I can be quicker next time and have a better attention to detail. The details of the project have also become clearer to me as I delve more into it.

Hiya! Please include your actual firmware in the repo, not just a blinky example in order for this to get approved. Please put your finished firmware into a folder called "firmware" (as per the guide https://stardance.hackclub.com/resources/starting-hardware). Also, I advise you not to use breadboards to build this. Design a custom PCB or find another solution to make the project more polished. A CAD enclosure helps that a lot and fits this project, so I highly suggest you make one! Thanks!

Fixed the wiring diagram because it was really basic before and lacked the information needed to actually show everything. This includes the USB port and also the change to the LCD.

Hiya, this is a great starter project! Please provide a more detailed wiring diagram in your repo (e.g. power circuitry is missing) and choose cheaper keycaps. We unfortunately can't approve that much funding for keycaps. Additionally, upload the firmware you plan to use and please rewrite your README without using AI, we have an awesome guide on this:

Thanks!

Started the wiring diagram for Oxide Keys. Mapped all 8 switches, the rotary encoder, OLED and Neopixel to the pins on the pico.
