I created a 6 axis robotic arm entirely from scratch starting from the PCB to the 3D modelling and designing.

Great work on adding all the .step files as required! :D

this project is really cool!

I have a few requests to note in your design, though:
- when using gearboxes on stepper motors, bolt them directly to the motor. something in between will cause issues in my experience. see this photo for the part I'm referencing: https://cdn.hackclub.com/01a025c5-f0af-7e38-a652-5abac235ab08/image.png
- the way that the 3 motors near the end of the arm are mounted doesn't appear functional to me.
- there's a lot of really really thin features in this CAD which have to carry a lot of weight. stepper motors & gearboxes are wayyy heavier than you would think. all plastic parts should be 5-10mm
- one of your motors doesn't seem to connect to anything & another one is entirely unable to spin
- no estop in your cad but estop in your bom!

Overall I really like this project and think it's really cool but needs some work to be functional. I really suggest that you make an Assembly in Fusion with actual joints to test things out, it helps me a lot with making sure my projects will actually work

Hello!

There are some minor changes that need to be made before this can be approved:

- All CAD files need to be .step files
- Add the firmware and PCB gerber files to your production folder.

Once these changes are made you will be approved! Great work on this project :)

Wrote the complete documentation and uploaded all the files on github. I worte a very detailed description about this project and also the technical limits. If I will be able to gain all the materials to build the project the readme will have significant improvments like testing single components, their correct waveforms with an oscilloscope and then a full firmware for the arm. I also added more serigraphy manually to the PCB to make connectors simpler to find

After many hours of work in CAD, the 3D model of the 6-axis robotic arm is finally done. I carefully chose the motors based on the weight they need to lift, making sure the arm has enough power while staying balanced. I also added key safety features, like rotation limits on each joint to prevent collisions and an integrated base that holds the custom PCB with a cooling fan.

The PCB is FINISHED ! Finally after 3 hours of cabling the components it is ready. Now i need to start 3D modelling for the effective robotic arm and maybe later add and expasion to the board so people can add their own things to it.

New update. Just finished placing all the component on the PCB but now it comes the hard work, also i am trying to keep things as smaller as possible but i think that this size is good. Now i will start wiring up the components and i think this will take a lot of time but we’ll se soon !

Big update !!! Finally finished the schematic, it has been a long journey assuring every connection and improving the safety of the circuit. I just finished assining the footprints, so now it comes the PCB ! Here’s a little sneak peek at my MCU

Started to wire up some components in the Power and MCU fields. I am also trying to make the schematic a lot cleaner than my other projects because this is a big one :) Stay tuned for more devlogs!

This is the start of my new project ! I am going to build a full 6 axis robotic arm completely from scratch developing my own PCB with my own 3d design. My arm will have a lot of features like ai recognition, auto calibration, quick swap for tools and many others !
