A simple yet sleek Macro pad for the Hackpad challenge.

Ship #1 Pending review

I made a macropad with a vornoi style case, 9 mx switches, a rotary encoder knob and a xiao seed boarrd to power it all. The build turned out great although the oled board was cracked when it arrived the macropad still functions perfectly. I managed to get the board to control some shortcuts and smart lights in my room. I would say the most difficult part was the initial learning curve of kicad but i managed to get it after a few hours of practice and overall this project was really fun and a actually useful build!

Hello!

There seems to be an issue with your hackpad's schematic. Specifically, with the encoder. You need to use labels for your schematic & make sure text isn't overlapping so it stays readable, then switch the encoder press to be between gnd & D1.

Once this change is made to the schematic, make sure to update your PCB!

Once this is done, we will have another look, and **hopefully**, you get approved if everything is right! :D

Hi! The renders loook great, but there are still a few changes you need to make. Right now the firmware folder inside your production folder should be in the root directory. You only need the compiled firmware inside the produuction folder (in your case this is the uf2 file). You are also missing the gerbers.zip inside of your production folder. Additionally please write your ReadME yourself, without using AI, because other humans are going to be reading this, so they deserve something written by the actual designer. If you need a reference for the repo structure, you should look here: https://hackpad.hackclub.com/submitting

My older case design and pcb did not fit the design specifications therefore i had to alter my design. I could have simply adjusted the older case to fit the required dimensions but after attempting to do so i found quite a few issues such as hangovers with the 3d model which would make it harder to 3d print. So instead i designed a more minimalistic model which incorporates a vornoi style on the front and sides. To make it easier to print I could split the model into parts in Bambu studio when i eventually print the model myself.

Hi! The render lookss awesome, and this seems like a great hackpad. However, you are missing a lot of the stucture of your repo. You should have different folders for CAD, your PCB, firmware and production. You also need. BOM in your readME and some more pictures! You can looks here to make sure that you have everything that you need: https://hackpad.hackclub.com/submitting

Created a basic design for my hackpad after importing the components and pcb into shapr3d to create a basic visualisation. Now I can go on to refine the look and create a better looking case better suited to my vision with functionality.

Initial progress of creating my pcb a case. I started off by importing all the 3d files of components which were lacking them in KiCAD and creating a basic plate.
