3 QOL IMPROVEMENTS Daily workload calculationIt takes the amount of work left and deadline and tells the student how much they need to complete per day.Hourly workload calculationIt converts that workload into how much they need to complete per hour, based on the hours they can work each day.Pace/feasibility verdictIt compares the student’s required pace with their estimated normal pace and tells them whether they’re fine, getting tight, in crunch time, or cooked.

What did I make?

I made Deadline Decider, aka AM I COOKED? XD — a little web app for those moments when you look at your workload and have absolutely no idea if you’re actually going to finish it 😭. You put in how much work you have, how much you’ve already done, how much time you have left, how many hours you can work, and your usual speed. It then does the math for you and tells you how much you need to do per day/hour, how long you’d need at your current pace, and whether you’re fine, getting tight, in crunch time, or… yeah… cooked 💀. I also made it work with different units like pages, problems, chapters, words, etc. :)

What was challenging?

Honestly, getting the actual calculator logic right was probably the hardest part because there are SO many little things that can go wrong 😭. I had to think about things like what happens if someone enters zero, finishes more work than they started with, has basically no time left, or puts in unrealistic numbers. Then there was the whole process of making the UI actually feel good instead of looking like a random calculator from 2008 XD. Getting everything to build, deploy, and actually work on Vercel also gave me a few ✨character development✨ moments.

What am I proud of?

I’m probably most proud that I actually took a random “wait… what if I made a thing for this?” idea and turned it into a real, usable project :D. It’s not just a calculator that spits out numbers — it turns a vague “omg I have SO MUCH TO DO” into something you can actually understand and act on. I’m also really happy with how the UI turned out because I wanted it to feel fun and slightly unserious while still being something you’d genuinely use. Anddd seeing it actually live on the internet after all the debugging was definitely a moment 😭 :)

What should people know so they can test my project?

Please actually try to break it XD. Enter some normal numbers first, like 100 total, 20 completed, 5 days left, 4 hours/day, and a speed of 5 per hour, then hit Calculate my fate. Try different units, change the numbers around, and definitely try weird/invalid inputs too because I built validation for those. You can also hit Reset to start over. Basically, give it your most chaotic deadline situation and see whether you’re fine, getting tight, in crunch time, or completely cooked 💀.

Built and polished Deadline Decider, a small web app that turns deadline panic into actual numbers. The idea came from a simple problem: when students have a lot of work left and not much time, “I have so much to do” isn’t very useful. I wanted a tool that could take the workload, time available, and working speed and immediately tell you what pace you’d actually need.HOPE YOU GUYS LIKE IT :0
