I’ve now added the player and am working on the first minigame. Right now I just have the ground and the background for the minigame. I made the player sprite on Piskel (does anybody else use that?). For some reason it’s blurry here, but it’s not blurry in Godot thankfully. So far I have only one problem, but as far as I can tell it’s quite a big problem. It never gets to my minigame screen! It goes from the title screen to the timer screen, and just stays on that forever! There seems to be a lot of errors but I have no idea what they mean, and also, since I copy pasted my code directly from the mission guide, I don’t know why there even are errors. The end.

This is my first devlog! I’m almost completely new to coding and stuff (except a tiny bit of Python), and I just joined Stardance three days ago, so this is my first project. I’ve worked on it for about an hour and a half so far, and… honestly not making nearly as much progress as I expected. Maybe that’s because I’ve only coded with AI to make games in VSCodium in the past. (I’d just ask it to make a game like so and so, then copy & paste XD.) But, anyway, it’s asking me to post so I guess I have to post. This whole “stardust” and “shipping” thing is still very confusing, but I guess I’ll figure it out. So far, as you can see, I have only made the title screen and level scene. And on the title screen, only the “start game” button does anything. I’m not sure what’s wrong with the other buttons, so could somebody help? (That probably made me look really stupid. I can hear somebody saying, “Silly Finnish Linux users!” Ok, they’re probably not saying that, but whatever.) I’m pretty sure I coded it right for the “quit” button to quit… but the guide was a bit confusing. Anyway, that’s all, thanks for reading through the whole boring thing if you did, and if you didn’t, well… I wouldn’t have, either.
