## What Vinland Saga OS is Vinland Saga OS is a Web-Based OS inspired by my favourite anime, Vinland Saga. It's my first-ever Hack Club project and a first-ever fully working website. I Know there are still many bugs but I tried my best and I will improve it more. ## Main features I added a top bar having a logo, a Thorfinn quote, and a clock. I also added a sidebar having app icons and some Viking Norse rune symbols for decor. There are a total of five apps, or you can say Widgets, including: 1. A clock app 2. A Quick notes app 3. A Thorfinn Journey map 4. An opening song from the Vinland Saga series 5. A gallery with images of the scenes from the series, and some fanart. ## Technologies used For making this WebOS my ultimate guide was the [guide made by Hack Club](https://jams.hackclub.com/batch/webOS).

(Vinland Saga OS v0.6) is a Web-Based OS inspired by my favourite anime, Vinland Saga. It’s a Japanese animated series. It’s my first-ever Hack Club project and a first-ever fully working website. I Know there are still many bugs but I tried my best and I will improve it more. To be honest, I learned so many new things with this project, especially JavaScript. I have never written JS myself before, but you made me use it on my own. This is my WebOS 2 so in this WebOS 2 version i added and improved many things :

  1. The first thing I added is to open the gallery image in full screen when clicked.
  2. The second and best feature i added is to save whatever you write in notes so that every time you open it you can see and intract with your saved notes.
  3. The third and the fun feature i added is a random quote generator. I converted my single quote card to this quote generator.
  4. The fourth feature i added is that when you open the OS, you have to open the gallery manually like an app. I did this only with Gallery because it did not feel good to me as a widget on the screen.

(Vinland Saga OS v0.7) Added 4 new features. Today, in this, i added many new features to enhance the user experience,

I have never written JS myself before, but you made me use it on my own without AI, yea but i will be honest with you: there was a lil hidden bug in some 2 lines of JS, I tried my best to debug but at the end i asked copilot to tell me why this code is not working and it told me, the lines were swapped with each other, so then I debugged it.

(Vinland Saga OS v0.6) Final polish has been completed and now i am finally shipping it.

In the final polish i added Vikings Norse symbols to the OS and added more images to the gallery. Finding and editing the Norse symbols to match the theme took me too much time. Soo tell if something can be improved. BTW I’m going to ship it…😄

Finally Its Time To ship (Vinland Saga OS v0.5) Completed
This Time i added many new features like opening and closing the windows/Apps, Actually my app are like widgets on screen, i also a pre loading screen, added more images to gallery and made a new beautiful clock widget.

Now Its time for Just a final polish and Doneee…

Late Night New Features Update to Vinland Saga OS

Today before adding new feature i thought to modify theme colors because they were looking boring so first i change the color, and then i started to add more features to my OS but i dont have any new feature idea after searching and thinking here and there i thought to add a song and a gallery, so first i downloaded a Vinland Saga opening song and some images stolen from Pinterest 😅, and start building the features and here the results are in front of you…(Please let me know I you like it😥)

Now tomorrow i will add more features

Sooo… Finally New Features Added To Vinland Saga OS

the most dangerous part was literally JavaScript 😭

  1. Added a Side bar for apps icon and add a image at the top of it to make it look badass.
  2. Add a Quick Notes App that took me two Daaays because to make it draggable, open and close using java script ( Its my fist time of using Java script 😭)
  3. Still Adding new Apps and features 😉

(oh and also added a custom knife cursor but you cant see it in the screenshot)

Oh Finally now its far better than before

after searching hours i found a perfect background for my OS, and i also changed the background color and text color of the pannels to make it look much better and match the theme. The most difficult part was choosing the theme color that will look perfect with the background and ancient theme, currently its not haiving much features but soon it will look greate with useful features (Maybe😅)

oh and i fogot to tell that i also make some windows movable anywhere on screen
