What did I do? I gave up on the Zelda command for now, and instead, I tried getting the bot to run 24/7, but that isn’t working either.
What did I do today? Fix spelling issues, and check everything over!
What did I do? Tinkered around because I’m still trying to figure out how to format the Zelda API! I need some desperate help, because I don’t want to add unnecessary complicated things. I need to figure this out, more Googling will probably enlighten my path. What I need to do? More Googling!
What I did? Today, I didn’t really do much, I just worked on the actual text written when the command passes or fails to be more cool!
What I did? So for the past week or so, I’ve been struggling to get some of my commands to work, because they were using APIs. I modeled them off of the examples ones (since I’m doing the mission), and I got one to work! But the Zelda one, I realized (after using AI to troubleshoot) isn’t working because the link for the API is invalid. What’s next? I’m going to work on finding a reliable API link for the Zelda one, and I can FINALLY move on from this project, just finishing the last three steps in the guide for the Slack Bot!
Building Slack Bot: I didn’t get much sleep, and I made this devlog to log time, and make small, text based errors and we fixed the tiny errors in the code.
Adding more commands The way that this was done is that I added more and more commands to the Slack API to create the rest of the commands! Still need to figure out the Zelda one!
Attempt at making my own command I created a Zelda themed command (like I’ve been saying for the past, what three days?). I looked at an example to see how I could model this, instead of just using the template given by the Stardance guide. So far, it is working, but I don’t know what link to use to fetch the API. I also don’t know if my code will work, but I still need to finish before running! Also, I decided that my slack bot is going to be animal themed, but also extremely random! Below are the animals (but not the exact ones I will use).
I didn’t really do much today, I tried experimenting, and seeing what was or wasn’t working, and so far, I have the two template API’s and I’m trying to use a Legend of Zelda API, but it’s not working. Going to try it out soon, with a lot of help form Google.
I troubleshooted my project with some help with Ai, just because I didn’t know why my commands weren’t working. Turns out, I just needed to add the commands into Slack API, which I shortly discovered. This was done, and soon my project worked, but I’m kinda stuck of what theme to do it on: Zelda, random facts, something useful, etc. That will be a mission for next time! (attached is picture of Zelda BOTW, which I might theme the slack bot on).
What I did - I was following the guide, and I got up to the part by adding more commands, but it started giving me these errors. The bot is running through the ping command, but no anything else. Next time I work on this, I’m going to troubleshoot, comparing it to the guide, and if not, I might need some help.
Slack Bot: I’ve been trying to create this project since June, and I finally picked it up again! I’m following the tuturial, but I’m facing some issues. I’m leaving the trouble shooting for another day!
