I’ve just made it!!! I’ve just finished my very first own macropad, I’ve made the case and the code, but i forgot to save the colored version of my step files, but i don’t care i will only change the filament color, hope you loke it :)
The Space pad has 6 switches with 3 profiles to change between by holding on the encoder and it will change between the profiles with simple animations on the screen(hopefully) and the screen will show you which profile name and number are you in, and it has RGB which is enough.
I’m working on the Case, when I finish it I will share it with you.
REMAKING SPACE PAD, I’m making space pad from the beginning, I’ve just finished the PCB and now making the Case, The Changes: decreased the 9 switches to 6, decreased the 14 RGB LEDs to 12, ADDED THE OLED SCREEN!!! What is your opinion about the new one?
I have just finished the Firware and also edited my case, BUT!!! I don’t know how to log the time of the code in the same as the CAD and PCB, so i accedintlly logged a ( 2-hours and 27 min ) session of coding on another folder.
I have just finished the Case of Space Pad, It’s AMAZING for me as the first CAD project, hope you like it like me, heading to software hopefully.
I’m amazed by what I have done with the case, when I finish it completely I will show you the masterpiece I made, not that amazement, but I’m very happy with it as my first CAD project.
I’m close to finish the bottom layer of the case, but i have a question, if made the holes for the m3 inserts’ diameter is 4.7, although that the insert is 5 mm diameter, so i can heat it using the soldering iron to insert it, do i have to make a hole in the bottom to add a nut or is it okay to have the m3 insert only?
Uploaded the 3D models of the parts of the PCB, and prepared for the CAD.
I’m suffering :( i am stuck in the CAD and case design and i am not even able to do one shell, and I didn’t make any CAD before, and pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee if anyone made this mission before, please help me.
Made slight changes in the silkscreen and made the drawings more simple, and changed the PCB size from 100.5 Length and 81 Width, to 99.5 Length and 81 Width, so it fits the rules of the PCB making step as Hack Club Guide has mentioned.
I can say that I FINALLY!!! made the PCB, I’ve just removed the not needed silkscreen and added the cool Orphus and hack club drawings, and of course my cool octopus, and i made the PCB with smooth curved edges, waiting for your comments
I know that I’m a bit crazy and that I took too much for the most simple and easy part in the HackPad mission:) but i returned to the concept of the RGBs instead of the OLED Screen, the screen may be more useful but it will make the design not as i wanted it to be, do I made this hopefully last version… if you have any comments or advices i will appreciate it especially if the advice is about the Case Design.
No real progress today, but i need help, if i want to have the Hack Pad vertically and i don’t want to move the encoder, switches, or the OLED Screen, where should I put the XIAO, and if i put it in the B.Cu can i put the GND area in the B.Cu when i do this? if anyone helped me I’ll appreciate it too much
In the first, I’m sorry for not recording anything for 3 days, truthfully I have no arguments because it was my laziness, i mad some remakes in the PCB because I knew that i was using the wrong footprints for the diodes, and also I mad differences in the place of the XIAO, and if any of you have any advice for me I will appreciate it, specially an advice in the CAD please because I’m very bad in it.
Finally!!! I’ve finished the whole PCB, I was trying to have more graphics but it will ruin the electricity, I’ m very proud of the final result, hope all of you love it, and if any of you have any comments I will be soo thankful :)
Adding the Mounting holes, Ground area and putting the last details.
Remaking the routes of the PCB so that if i made the space under the xiao visible, there will be some cool wiring Routes 0_o
working on the Routing of the PCB
Remaking the PCB, I felt like that the RGBs isn’t very important, so i deleted them and added an OLED screen instead of it, and changed the places of some rows.. If any of you have some tips to me about the placement, i will be soo thankful to know it :)
Finallyyyy! I’ve just finished the PCB, I know that it is very messy, but I’m proud of my first PCB, if you have any comment you want to add, i will be happy to know :)
I’m working on the schematic of my MacroPad ( SpacePad ), i made it with 9 switches with 9 diodes, 1 rotary encoder ( a knob ), RGB Lights, and of course the microcontroller, I’m too excited to finish this project!!!
