I tried getting a feature out…. but nope, only fixed bugs :cryign:

What changed?

  • Added AEC (active echo cancellation) on some platforms: i have to compile FROM these platforms, like cross-compilation straight up does not work… sorry windows
  • Fixed file transfers and improved it’s UI
  • Fixed offline messaging… i hope

i had to figure out how to compile audio libs to other platforms… that took me a while…….. thanks opus :sunglas:

What next?

  • uhhh good question? more tests maybe? and UI improvements
  • i was thinking about making a background process run, separate from the app that would get messages so you can close the app while that runs… will have to look into it

hi! Started testing Kursal and found…. bugs! so i spent quite some time fixing them…

What changed?

  • Connections between peers were unstable: increased timeout + fixed a rate limiter bug
  • Improved the UI with a new “connected nodes” section (see screenshot)
  • Added an option to change the sample rate (defaults to 48 kHz, but you can lower to improve potential lag)
  • and small UI improvements like moving the call bar to the bottom which fits better

What next?

  • test. test. test.

my goal is to release the app in beta before august and get the first stable version out mid-august… we’ll see!

yooo 3rd devlog :) sorry i’m not posting very often, i’d like to devlog feature by feature but they really take time…

What changed?

  • Fixed vulnerabilities (post-quantum encryption in mailbox system & useless signature removal)
  • Managing nodes in the settings (like viewing and adding connections)
  • A lot of UI improvements a bit everywhere!
  • calls… work in progress!

calls is the feature i’ve been working on for a while. I re-used the encryption mechanism of file transfers: make a temporary secret key and then use it. I got SOUND going!! :yay:

What next?

  • testing offline messaging :kekw: (my friends were still offline)
  • testing calls (a lot)!
  • improving call UI
