I don’t like hardware, but I hate paying for stuff I’ll never use more. Introducing the world’s worst driving sim setup, made entirely out of household objects. I spent about an hour coming up with a design for pedals that

  1. Could be pressed down,
  2. Quickly return to their original position,
  3. Create a usable electronic signal for controlling games, and
  4. Are entirely made out of household objects. I’m making an exception for the microcontroller because this would be literally impossible otherwise.
My prototype design will use rubber bands to provide resistance for the pedals, and a dimmer switch to create the electronic signal. I’m requesting funding for this project because I intend for this to be a semi-permanent setup, and I don’t think my parents would be too pleased with me if I used their stuff for this. The next step is to finalize the math for the rubber band tension, which will evidently involve breaking some of those bands. For science.
