I’m building a custom PCB-powered “Room Control System” that turns my desk into a physical interface for my entire environment. It combines a 10-key mechanical macro keyboard with a built-in screen that acts as a live dashboard for my room and personal systems. Each key represents a “mood mode” for my space — for example Focus, Chill, Gaming, Study, or Sleep. Pressing a key triggers a full environment change: lighting, music, timers, and even my backend services. The system connects to my smart home setup and my own backend server, which handles things like weather data, task lists, system stats, and daily briefings. The screen displays this information in real time, making the device a central hub for my day.
