After two failed submissions I finally found the problem! The reviewer said the Hack Club AI key didn’t work. But my code, as I thought, wasn’t actually the problem. Because GitHub Pages doesn’t support Serverless Functions and Vercel do. Now I host Piggi on Vercel. It feels and looks the same, but it works. Check it out here!

I received an answer really quickly from the reviewers. They said I have to open PiggiAI to Hack Club AI. I never heard of it before, but you can get your API key there for top OpenAI models. Now PiggiAI is opened to both keys! Check it out here!

I created an app to keep an eye on your expenses and to reach your saving goals. It has smart features like Stats and a Calculator. Additionally there is PiggiAI, an integrated AI that runs via your Gemini API key. All the data is saved securely in local stoprage, never löeaves your device and can be deleted with just two clicks.

I just found out that the Stardance event has been extended by another month! I’m really happy but in the last days I spent so much time finishing Piggi. Now I’m done, there are no new features today, but you can check it out in my repo and live on GitHub Pages. I was struggling with Pages, but I finally did it! I’m about to submit the project. Maybe there’ll be a new version of Piggi, so stay tuned!

I finally finished Piggi! I added a lot of new features. For example Stats and Calculator features. But try it yourself here or check my repo! I’m adding information to the README but I have to submit the project now because the Stardance Event is ending tomorrow. Here are a few screenshots of the UI.

Yesterday I recieved a message that I forgot the production folder and the BOM. Today I created these files and folders and updated my repo. Additionally I designed the knobs - I didn’t really design them, I took the Hack Club Design and removed the h. And I also colored the CAD file. Check my repo out!

I’m back working on Piggi! In the last weeks I built my Hackpad and shipped it yesterday. While it’s being checked I’m working on this project again. My plan is to finish it before the Stardance event ends.

I finally finished the software. I don’t know if this will work but with the help of AI I created info.json and keymap.c for QMK. What’s shown on the display and many other things I’ll configure when the Hackpad is shipped and built. Yesterday I was working an hour and a half but I added it accidentally to another project. Today I created a repo, check it out here. I’m happy that I’m finally done with all the parts and I’m locking forward to building and programing my Hackpad!

This is my finished PCB and my case so far. During designing the case I noticed that not all parts of the PCB were perfectly aligned. I was struggling with the measurement and designing the holes for the switches, rotary encoders and the display. Now I have a few odd distances and the parts are not exactly centered, but I don’t have enough time to fix this. Tomorrow I will finish the case completely and start with the software, so I can hand it in soon and build it.

I just finished the schematic of my PCB. Now I’m working on the design of the PCB. I arranged the switches and diodes. I don’t know where to place the microcontroller. My plan was to put it on the left but then the case woul be too big. I think I’ll place it on the back of my PCB behind the display.

I started designing my Hackapad! At first I designed a sketch in Tinkercad. I included 8 buttons, 2 rotary encoders and the display. For the colors I drew my inspiration from devices by Teenage Engineering. As I was designing the matrix, I realized that I was using too many ports than I were available. So my solution is to include the two encoders in the matrix for the press signal and wire one of them for the rotary signal. Then I used exactly all 11 ports of the microcontroller.

Devlog #3

I just finished the app and made some changes:
· New Settings menu
· Adjustable avatar letter
· Option to reset all data
· Option to add and subtract funds
· Warning when entering letters or symbols in forms for numbers

Aside from that I removed the diagram because I don’t think you need a visualization of monthly income and expenses. Now I’ll start with PiggiAI. I also hosted Piggi on GitHub Pages so check it out here!

Devlog #2

I largely finished the structure of the app, but it’s a work in progress and a few bugs to fix. The code is now on GitHub - try it out! These things are improved or new:
· New menu for the settings
· New dark mode
· A clearer diagram for expenses
· New buttons
· Maximum of 10 saving goals and 5 sources of income
· A few more improvements

I had a problem with the Editing UI of the balance because I renamed a class in CSS but not in HTML and JS.

As the next step I want to build the PiggiAI. It’s an AI assistant and it uses your Gemini API key. How you get this key is explained in the README in GitHub. Right now, the tile ‘PiggiAI’, the PiggiAI input bar at the bottom and the menu to enter your API key are currently non-functional, I’m working on it.
