I made a CryptoBot! Now you may be asking, what is a CryptoBot? Well, here it is!

(P.S. I don’t think this is an official term, I just came up with it as a fun name for my project.)

First, let’s talk about the word “crypto.” In this project, crypto refers to cryptography, which is the practice of protecting information by converting it into encrypted text using methods called ciphers.

Encryption adds an extra layer of security by hiding information so that only someone with the correct method or key can read it.

Two popular examples of ciphers are the Caesar cipher and the Vigenère cipher.

The Caesar cipher is a substitution cipher that shifts every letter by the same number. For example, if the shift is 3, every letter moves three spaces forward in the alphabet.

The Vigenère cipher is the cipher I used in CryptoBot. Instead of using one number every time, it uses a code word to create different shifts for each letter, making the encryption more complex.

In short, CryptoBot is a computer system that can encrypt and decrypt messages using cryptography.

I really enjoyed creating this project, learning about cybersecurity, and having the opportunity to share it with others.
