I started a new project to build my own alarm clock. I created the schematic in KiCad and then routed the PCB. Then I aligned all the components in fusion 360 before starting the case design. Next, I’’m going to design the case and fit everything together.

I finished up my hackpad. I wrote the firmware in QMK with some help from ChatGPT for coding and debugging. Then I fixed a mounted point in PCB, organized my project files, and generated production files. Everything is now organized and ready for submission!

I finally finished my new hackpad case. I added a hole for the USB port using orpheuspad as an example, then added mounting screw holes and an additional angled plate at the bottom. I also added M3 mounting hole to my PCB and matched it in the case so the PCB can be securely fastened now. The only thing left is the firmware.

I added my new PCB to the Fusion project and aligned it with the components and sketches for the new case. I reworked the sketches several times to make sure everything lines up and fits correctly, then continued working on the case and assembling the components. The case is almost done, but I still need to add a hole for usb port and screws to hold pcb and case parts together.

I updated my schematic and placed all new parts on the pcb to match the new case design. I spent a lot of time to route everything and making sure all the connections fit with the new layout but it’s finally finished. Next I will continue working on the case and assembly.

I spent the last couple of days figuring out how to add 3D models into fusion 360. I had trouble finding downloadable models and I eventually exported them from orpheuspad example and added them to my project. Then I arranged the models and started working on a new case. I also need to update pcb to match the new design.

Today I designed a case for my hackpad in Fusion 360. I followed the guide to create the base, sides, and lid with the switches holes. I also added a usb cutout. This was my first time using Fusion 360, so I had to figure out the tools I used and make a lot adjustments along the way.

Today I started my first project in KiCad. I tried to follow the guide, but I ran into several issues because it is probably written for another version of KiCad. I had to google how to install the footprints and symbols, move the parts around, add the board outline, and so on. After figuring those out I finished my schematic and routed connections in PCB editor.

I made SmileyWare, a fast-paced game with three different minigames: a platformer, a clicker game, and a maze. The most challenging part was connecting all the minigames and making sure the logic, movement, coordinates, timers, and screens worked together properly. I’m proud that I built the game myself with a little assistance from ChatGPT for debugging issues, created my own sprites and textures, and added my own ideas to the project like moving targets in the clicker game and random star positions in the maze. To test my game, open the demo link and play through the minigames while trying to beat the timer.

Today, I improved the gameplay and made SmileyWare feel more polished and playful. I fixed the player sprite in the platformer minigame so it faces the direction of movement, added different directions for the top-down character, and made the stars in the clicker minigame move at random speeds and directions. I also updated the winner and death screens to give them more personality.

During last week. I followed the guide to create a platformer minigame and a clicker minigame, then added my own maze minigame. At first, I used default textures and sprites. I connected all the parts of the game, fixed several bugs, and updated the game logic several times to make everything run smoothly. At the end, I created custom textures and sprites in Canva using basic shapes and gradients, and then used my artwork to style all the game scenes.

Today I created the scripts and set up the level scene. It took some time to understand how it works in godot even with all references in the guide, but I managed to get through the steps and it is ready to start building my first minigame next.

Today I started my warioware project in Godot and set up the basic project structure according to guide. I created the title screen with a title and start/settings/quit buttons. I haven’t made my own art yet, so I’m just using the basic visuals for now.

I made a simple new-tab page for web browser with live clock and date, google search, customizable shortcuts, and widgets that use public APIs to get data from github, nasa apod, and open meteo websites. The hardest part was making the shortcuts work so I could add and delete them. I’m proud that I turned a basic idea into a useful new-tab page. To test it, run npm install, configure env file, then npm run dev, open the page in the browser, and try the search, shortcuts, etc.

Today I added a new widget that uses public github API to get details about the user profile. Then I restyled the widgets layout and added readme file. I also checked all the changes to make sure everything worked as expected before shipping.

Today I added widgets to my tab. Now it has two widgets that load data from external APIs: a NASA APOD widget that shows today’s astronomy picture of the day, and a weather widget that uses user’s location to load current weather data from open-meteo website.

I made Study Buddy, a Slack bot that helps students stay focused and makes studying easier. It’s got a timer, weather and umbrella check, cat facts, jokes, and few simple commands. The hardest part was getting everything to work together and making the weather feature give useful answers instead of just showing the weather data. I’m most proud that I turned my simple idea into something that people can actually use for studying. To test it, open the Slack channel and try commands like /study-buddy-focus 25, /study-buddy-umbrella Cincinnati, /study-buddy-catfact, or /study-buddy-help.

Today I worked on the shortcuts. I changed them to render from an array, saved them in local storage, and made them clickable. I also added fancy modal form for adding new shortcuts to the list and a small delete button that appears on hover and deletes shortcut from the saved list.

Today I improved my tab page by adding a blinking clock separator. I also made google search work and add a dynamic background with dark overlay.

Today I started the new tab redesign with static layout, clock and date, search box, and shortcuts placeholders. Then I moved the page content from hardcoded html into javascript and split the logic into small js files (e.g. clock, search, shortcuts, etc.) so the project is easier to build step by step.
