Done with the case! Switched to fusion since I know it better
Done with the pcb for now, I’ll probably add some more components later. I know KiCAD a lot better since the last project.
Finished the case for the HackPad!
Finished the PCB for my Hackpad macropad! It’s a [3]-key design built around a Seeed XIAO RP2040. In KiCad I wired [3] switches to the XIAO’s pins and ground, then assigned footprints and routed the traces on the back layer. The XIAO is flipped to the bottom side, so it gets soldered from below. Last, I drew the board outline and measured it at [X] x [Y] mm, which I’ll use for the case. Next up is the case in Fusion 360, then the QMK firmware.
Devlog: NASA APOD site
got most of my APOD site done! it shows NASA’s picture of the day with the title and explanation, and it updates every day. live here: https://paimei1.github.io/APOD/ and the code is at https://github.com/PaiMei1/APOD
the guide uses vanilla JS but I did it in React + TypeScript with Vite since that’s what I know best. it handles loading, errors, and image vs video.
for the styling I made zigzag strips on both sides with clip-path: polygon() and used Orbitron + Black Ops One for the fonts.
