Terminal and browser rework
Updated the terminal to actually be able to run some commands and added a working code editor! Also made the browser actually searchable(but still in progress to load apps like youtube,…) and made a README. To benchmark the capabilities of the code editor, I was about to load kestrelOS inside of kestrelOS!!!
README fully updated with the reworked code and config.json and added calibration guide, 3d printable case uploaded and new macro-pad look updated, as well as an embedded youtube demonstration video!!!!!
The great rework
Reworked code.py for a more user friendly config.json and much more snappier magnetic switches, as well as more adjustable settings, guide in README will be updated soon!
Made it so that all keybinds and settings can be modified through a config.json file, new code posted on github
3D printable case UPLOADED and README file modified to fit PCB and 3d printed case
PCB first version done!
Writing this after getting plenty of sleep. After six grueling hours yesterday figuring out kicad, fumbling around and going through about six iterations(which hackatime didnt track idk why), I present to you the first version of the PCB for the project. This takes out ALL the wiring and reduces the case height/thickness by 4x. If you have any questions or see any errors that my 1am self made yesterday, please feel free to drop it down in the comments section.
Code and instructions and more OFFICIALLY posted on github!
Hall sensor calibration files, 3d printed case and pcb will be on there soon. Here’s the link: https://github.com/hien-cmd/h3m3-multipurpose-6key-macropad. Feel free to leave suggestions and ask any questions:)
First devlog
Ok I admit this project was started about a week ago, I managed to make a prototype of it purely out of soldering and 3d printing, since I lacked the fund and skills to create pcbs. Although it worked fine, it isn’t as great, compact and accurate compared to a pcb.
But without further ado, I present to you my 6 button macro pad:
-Features 6 programmable keyboard keys:
-3 of them being mechanical for casual work
-3 special adjustable hall effect keys for gaming(i personally use it to play osu!)
-Uses:
-rp2040-zero board by waveshare
-a few jumper wires, hotswap sockets
-hotswap pcbs
-3 hall effect sensors
-3d printed case and design
(although can condensed to only the rp2040-zero and hall effect sensors, hotswap sockets when the pcb is designed)
If you have any suggestions or questions feel free to type it in the comments. Keep in mind that this is just a prototype, and a lot of changes will be made in the future.
