Buhtig, my first Rails project

So basically, I have been wanting to learn Rails for a while, and I decided to start by coding a GitHub clone.

so I first had Claude created a step by step for me on the concepts for this and then looked through Google and docs to find how to do each step. I started by implementing users. When I normalized emails, I put it in the wrong file so it took me some time to figure that out and then there were a few problems with singular plural with validates and exclusion.

But I finally managed to get user creation up

Hack Club… 2026

Hack Club has been infiltrated and taken over by a sinister organisation. The only traceable proof, a corrupted main site. You have been selected to take down the organisation, using the control panel hidden in the site.

My latest project is an entire adventure game, hidden as easter eggs in the hack club site.

I started by cloning the hack club site and used claude to create a component that can store your progress on each easter egg in your browser storage.

Then i started work on the first easter egg - a password protected admin page and a subtly changed philosophy page.

I also found something in the repo that can let me push stuff to the console, it will make my life easier for a future egg.

I am having a bit of problems with the password part, somehow no matter what I input it allows me in, I will have to fix that.

Building the transactions and wallet flow

I have created the wallets and transasction flow signs a message built from the transaction’s own contents using the sender’s private key. Basically newtransaction part of the code. Verify checks that signature against the sender’s public key. Change any field amount, recipient after signing, and Verify returns false, because the signature no longer matches the (now different) message.

Researched on how blockchains worked. Decided to use Go, to code my blockchain since it has an inbuilt SHA256 library. Made a simple code for hash function and block struct. Initial bugs due to function errors. Simple fix was making them consistent. Made 3 initial blocks
