Checkboxes 1.0 is finally ready to launch.
Currently, it lacks much style, much content, and much depth all of these will be added to Checkboxes in the future (which will now make sense as to why i called it Checkboxes 1
I added alot of more colors
made the grid bigger,
also added a tutorial on the side because people are oloo 🦉
im not quitting before i get that certificate
welcome, to my final stardance project, I wanted to try something new, and easy, and fun, so im making a
PIXEL ART BOARD…thingy
first image shows the initial phase, second shows the current progress, for now just one color.
PLAN:
glad I kept the streak of “devlogs keep getting bigger and bigger!
Finally, after a long haul, my first incremental game is finally complete. theres alot of things i could have added, such as an automation system, and most importantly a saving system, but i really couldn’t.(trust me i tried).
so far, with just one prestige layer…Id say i did a good job. CSS sure did take a lot of time, which IS what i did in the majority of this last few hours.
anyways the last image is whats inside the small button in the second pic.
wow the time keeps getting larger in each devlog!
(first screenshot at 50percent zoom btw)
(second one is a snippet)
the last 2 prestige upgrades,
a way to add a “,” to seperate units, hundred, thousands
a whole lot other things(surprise surprise)
im so happy with what ive done so far, i think ive unlocked a new hobby!: staring at code trying to figure out what to do next.
I do want to spend some dedicated time stylizing the game, since…currently its not so eye catchy, and Ive had a lot of reviews on other projects about people saying to make presentation better using smth called ReactJS nodeJS, which ill have to learn… but WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT? I bet i can make something prettier without that…right?
wow first time going 2h+ before doing a devlog
CSS properties, to slowly reveal certain upgrades as you progress through the game.wow CSS takes a lot of time, especially paired with all the testing and decidings
Prestige system and Prestige upgrades
!! current version released to github is broken (tons of stardust at start because i was playtesting) but if you are still interested here it is!

2 days since my last devlog, ALREADY??, woah time flies.
THREE NEW UPGRADES.
Buy Helpers, the first one being yourself(help yourself…get it?) each helper multiplies Stardust gain by 2x!coffee chug some coffee down, watch your helpers do the same, and experience a further 2x Stardust gain!get Blessed??(stardance reference?) Make the team at Hackclub VERY happy, get a 1.2x multiplier ontop of everything else!I have been an incremental type games fan for a long while, and now I’ve finally decided to make my OWN game.
a Stardance Themed text based, browser based incremental game. Since its my first ever incremental game(AND first ever game), i want to keep it simple.
so far, ive made a simple counter 0 stardust that goes up everytime you click upload project button, and a small upgrade system, to get more stardust perclick after reaching the required stardust threshold.
I do NOT know how to to Javascript, and its a pretty big long language, I asked for help in a discord server of the popular incremental game website “Galaxy.click” where the OWNER HIMSELF(yhvr) sent me
his tutorial on how to make an incremental game.
heres the link: https://www.reddit.com/r/incremental_games/comments/ahf6nx/how_to_make_an_incremental_game/
I read through the tutorial, and made the outline of my own game, I learnt through it how everything works and did my best not to copy it entirely. However im sure the rest of my game is now completely up to me, my knowledge, and my own shenanigans.
you may be wondering, how did a complete beginner write all that big code in 36minutes and claim he didnt copy? well my Friend, that is because i had to make this project 2 EXTRA TIMES earlier. because in one of them, i cant remember but something went wrong with my page alignment and made me crashout and delete everything, the second time…my hackatime logged my 3 HOURS of work put into this, into the old file that i THOUGHT i deleted. sooo..then i made a third file, and typed my code and everything again.
I read the Rating reasons thingies, and most of them were about how the video didnt work, so i fixed that, because i wanted people to see what that video really is. Another person pointed out i should have more pictures in the website, i couldn’t figure out where to add pictures in Contacts and Projects, but i added 4 new pics to the Landing page, idk why i didnt think of this before.. I also centered the navigation bar, as it looked too far to the left.
My last devlog(for this project). Ive added everything i could have, everything i could think of, the tabs, the information, the fun stuff, added animations for the contacts images, now they slide In when opening contacts page, and the navigation bar tabs grow and shrink in size when hovering over them. and now i think its time to ship my first project.
been a while since my last devlog, I still didn’t get to the “adding life to About page” part, mainly because i still dont know how to. However I made a “secret” area with “valuable” information inside…only a true keen eye will spot where it is…
Other than that i updated projects page. now one box is for, the website itself, second box is supposed to be for a whole different list of all my other projects, but because there aren’t any, I have a feeling its gonna remain WIP even after i ship this project.
and for the third one, I thought it would be cool to add my 3x3 Pb but recording is hard.
thats all for now.
i finally got the navigation bar working, now it doesnt run into the stupid 404 error anymore. I also added 4 empty slots to display my projects(which hopefully wont remain empty :>) i also gave the contacts a background that matches the websites main background color. I havent done much in these 3 hours but i will say i have learnt more than ever(and still learning!!!)
Next I will probably try giving the About page some life, as currently its just three lines, along with some animations.
you can see the current state of the website here:

Created a github repository just today, although i started working on
this a 5 days ago. so far theres only 3 pages to it. because i never
viewed the website on github before(because like i said i just uploaded
it) i had been using the VS code live server extension, which had no
issues, but on github when clicking any “Projects” or “Contacts” it runs
into a 404 error, im not sure why thats happening but I will try to fix
that hopefully before my next devlog.(first devlog, how did i do?)
