So here’s the idea for my game: the idea for the game jam is “Trust No One.” Instead of making an Among Us clone or something like that, I got a pretty interesting idea. What if you worked as border patrol in an authoritarian regime and only let loyal citizens in while keeping enemies of the state out (or more exactly in but in an undesirable place called a labor camp)? A bit later, I realized that my super original and unique idea happened to already exist: it’s called “Paper, Please.” I had 3 options: think of a new idea, play the game and try to make my game different, or just not do anything and hope my game is unique enough (guess which one I chose; I’m also pretty optimistic about its uniqueness, because I’ve never played). So, we will see how this will turn out. If anyone has played, tell me how bad of a ripoff it is.

I am trying to make a VR headset based on the Google Cardboard headset but with my own design and with my own software. Here’s my plan: I already bought two lenses (34mm diameter and 45mm focal length) which I tested with just my phone and a normal image, and if you look through the lens with one eye and it kind of looks like VR (you can’t look through both unless you modify that image in a certain way, I’ll go into more detail about that in a devlog if I get far enough in this project). Since I have the lenses, all I need to do is to design the headset in CAD and code the software for the VR in Godot; I will make a mobile game that tracks the gyro and accelerometer of a phone to make it looks like you are looking around in VR. If I do all of that, I should be able to make a convincing enough VR. I’m not sure if this is a hardware or software project, but I put hardware because I’ll have a physical device despite the fact that I did most of the work on my computer.

I’ve always wanted to learn HTML, and this mission seems perfect for learning the very basics of HTML.

I am making a simulation of natural selection in Godot.

I am trying to code a procedural planet generator that randomly generates planets with certain properties in Godot
