Hi everyone,

Hi everyone,
It’s been a long time since my last devlog, but school started and I had to focus on more important things. I fixed some bugs and updated the design.
Hi, I finished the layout today. I exported the BOM, CPL, and Gerber files to the repository. I only have two steps left to the finish—CAD and Firmware.
In the past few days, I managed to fix some mistakes related to the layout and the apps. I’d be happy if you suggest in the comments what else I should add.
Today I launched my 3-switch Cherry MX macropad project for Hack Club, powered by the Seeeduino XIAO ESP32-C3 microcontroller. I routed all the traces in KiCad across both layers, fixed the footprint pin mismatches, and aligned the mounting holes into a symmetric layout with rounded board edges. With zero unrouted nets and a clean DRC check, I’m now ready to add a ground plane and export the Gerber files.
Upgraded VaskoOS with a complete UI overhaul! Dark Glass Theme: Switched to a sleek dark design with neon accents and transparent windows. Vector Icons: Replaced all emojis with Font Awesome icons for a cleaner look. New Apps: Replaced the audio generator with a working Calculator and a Task Manager. Clean Code: Removed unused elements, fixed window dragging, and polished all controls in English.
Vaskopad is ready for production! 🚀Uploaded all final files to GitHub:PCB: Gerber & Drill archive (Vaskopad.gbr.zip). Assembly Data: BOM (Vaskopad.csv) and Pick & Place (Vaskopad-all.pos). 3D Enclosure: Case and 3-switch top plate STL files. Next up: fabrication and assembly!
Designed and model-checked a custom 3D-printable case and switch plate in Tinkercad for the macropad. Created a 3-hole switch plate, fitted it into the enclosure pocket, added a side USB port cutout, and exported both STL files ready for 3D printing.
Finished PCB routing for my macropad — 3 Cherry MX switches wired to a Seeeduino XIAO. Had to flip the XIAO footprint a few times to get it oriented right 😅 Edge cuts next, then the case.
Today I added draggable windows to VaskoOS. Now the Notepad, Calculator, and main VaskoOS windows can be moved around the desktop by dragging their title bars. I also made the windows come to the front when I move them, so they behave more like real OS windows. This was a bit challenging because I had to use JavaScript to track the mouse position and update the window position while dragging. I’m happy with how much more interactive the WebOS feels now.
I have successfully upgraded vaskoOS to its most advanced version yet! I completely rearranged the desktop environment so the core Intro window sits right in the center, while the Notepad is docked in the top-left and a brand new working Calculator app is placed in the bottom-right. I also added a dedicated calculator button to the taskbar for full window minimization/maximization. Finally, I optimized the background system clock to run safely across all regional browser settings and integrated a dynamic developer Quote Generator that updates on click. Everything is now fully interactive, fully translated to English, and responsive!
I have upgraded my WebOS called vaskoOS! I moved the transparent windows into a beautiful side-by-side layout, added a working Notepad app that you can minimize and maximize using a dedicated taskbar button, integrated a clean HTML IKEA logo, and added a functioning light/dark mode toggle button.
I am working on my very own WebOS called vaskoOS! I successfully created a transparent central glass container, added a real-time running clock at the top, and fixed my custom IKEA logo using local paths in GitHub.
