Hello! I made Neil The Astronaut, Neil is a desktop buddy/assistant that stays with you while you’re working, coding or just browsing the internet.
He has AI Integration which can help u while you are doing something and need a quick answer and also it can read files too if the user needs help with files quickly to translate or summarize, you can make him idle if he is distracting and also when mad u can just grab and throw him around the screen ( he bounces sometimes). Also there is the Annoying mode where he closes your tabs. For me the most challenging part was integrating the AI and the file feature, I used Gemini for help because I had no idea how to even go about it. I am proud that it is actually useful, at first I thought its just a pet but no I would classify Neil as you Astronaut assistant!! Good to know is that I don’t recommend to use the F1 key to ask since F1 is also to open windows for help but just right-click Neil and click ask Neil on the Menu. be careful if using annoying mode because if u have important tabs open he will close them, if he does click ctrl + shift + T to bring the tab back. Hopefully you guys enjoy it and actually use it after rating, that would be amazing! ( I will maybe make a video on Neil not too sure yet ).

You can now drop files in the query and give tasks on what to do with them! And also he now has memory to remember the last 5 answers and questions. Neil is fully finished!

You can now throw Neil around and he will bounce around and land on one your bezel! I will also add 1 final feature to make Neil more “useful”.

Made the Node tool, made it clickable and it spawn a node and the node is draggable only within the grid.

Very first template for the website and a lot of features are yet to come and a lot of hours left to spend . Sadly I don’t think its possible to finish it before the end of Stardance, it is what it is.

I made OrbitOS. OrbitOS is a personalized WebOS inspired by our solar system (space). My main challenge was debugging, a lot of debugging because of slight syntax errors which were extremely frustrating. Other than that HTML and CSS weren’t too hard, but JavaScript was really challenging for me mainly because it was a really new thing. I am really proud that it came together, and also that I didn’t switch projects because the goal was to be under 5 hours and its been a gruesome 12 hours of debugging and trying my hardest to understand JavaScript. Also I am really surprised that I somehow did the Calculator app before the Fun Fact one, basically I did the hard app before the simple one. The app “icon” is the middle text at the top bar and the 2nd one is the calculator, also note that the OrbitOS in the top left is also interactable and also all windows are draggable even if there is no Grab button. Hopefully you enjoy my project and no issues pop up!!

Final addition was the Fun Fact app. Clicking the middle text of the top bar opens a window that has cool fun facts about our solar system and you can get new facts every time you click the New Fact! button. ( There is a limit to how many different facts there are ). As it seems OrbitOS is fully ready to be launched!

Somehow it is slowly coming together :). If anyone has any tips on what I could improve on I would love to hear them. ( Also try translating the binary on the calculator screen! )

Interactive windows added. Not happy at all with design. Sadly will have to restart the design : _(.
