Orbit OS is a minimal, macOS-inspired desktop environment that runs directly in your browser. I added apps like Finder, Calculator, Terminal, Notes, a browser launcher, and System Settings to make the desktop interactive. One challenge was getting the app icons to display correctly on the live Vercel deployment, which I managed to fix. I’m proud of how the project has grown into something people can actually explore online without downloading anything. Try the live project and open the different apps to explore Orbit OS!

Devlog #6 — Orbit OS Is Live!I successfully deployed Orbit OS on Vercel, making it accessible directly through a browser without needing to download or run anything locally.I also fixed the app icon loading issue on the deployed website, so the desktop looks the way it should online and locally. The goal was to make Orbit OS feel like a clean, minimal desktop environment while keeping everything simple and functional.Next, I’ll continue testing the live version and polishing the user experience.

Orbit OS — Devlog #5 I started working on Orbit OS after getting feedback on the first version.A lot of people liked the UI, but there were problems with dragging windows and some apps didn’t do much.I focused on improving the functionality while keeping the same dark space theme. I also started reworking the window controls so opening, closing, minimizing, and maximizing feel more consistent.

Built Orbit OS, a web-based desktop using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Added draggable, resizable, and minimizable windows, a working calculator, terminal, browser search, notes with local storage, files, settings, a live clock, and an app dock.
