The website is now pretty much operational! Though it’s design is still kinda rough,,
My hackatime is broken and doesn’t cound the time (
) but here’s the stuff i did:
After a lot, and i mean A LOT of trial and error, my chess move generator now outputs moves consistent with qperf reference values! All that’s left is to optimize it not to use 14gb of my ram (
) and i can start worrying about analyzing
With some final touches, the bot is deployed to heroku and ready to ship!
The bot is nearly complete! Transferring group ownership or deleting it now brings up a dialog
The bot is slowly nearing completion!
I’ve finished implementing rest of the commands, such as setting group parameters, added better arg parsing, etc.. All that’s left now is to polish the code, add final touches and deploy it
Group invites are now being handled properly!
This turned out not as hard as i thought it’d be, only requiring one top-level handler function, that could be arranged similarly to the other two i had for commands and autocomplete
TODO:
Most of the bot is now fully working! This includes:
TODO:
Currently working on deleting and managing call groups
Database code now allows for creating and joining groups, honoring users with admin permissions
I also created a dedicated error code system, instead of relying on try-catch to get all my info
After a little shenanigans, i finally got autocomplete hints to pull data from the database
Slowly but steadily, i’m setting up the database
I have rewritten the bot to use Discord’s built in interactions, which enables it to send messages visible to the command issuer
TODO: database 🥲
Hello, world!
So far i have created infrastructure that allows me to easily add and manage commands for the bot
Part 2 of making the website, mostly working on the contents as well as making it somewhat okay on all screen resolutions
This is my first time properly doing web-dev so i probably made every mistake possible, but i’m slowly chipping away at a basic “about me” website using tailwind css
I discovered the bitset library in c++, which makes it a lot easier to deal with bits, like this here function that prints a bit representation of a u64 integer, arranged like a bitboard, very handy! Otherwise, for the stuff done so far:
✅Fixed up the algorithm for applying moves to better account for en passant
✅Enabled move generator to generate en passant moves
Other less notable changes
Finally started working on move generation! Currently done and working:
✅Rook
✅Bishop
✅Queen
✅King (kind of, i have to precompute some stuff)
The applyMove function is finally done, now automatically handling castling, en passant, revoking castling rights, etc.
