Beginning the Basic Html and Tailwind CSS

I started to work on the website to help guide beginners what Hack Club is about, and how it works. So far I just worked on basic html and I started messing around with tailwind, which with my very little experience already feels much easier to use than regular CSS. I started learning tailwind syntax and how it works with html. Doing that I made the website background, a pink color, give the header larger text, made the font bold, center the text, made it white and added a margin to the top.

10/7 - Modeled Nerf Dart & Dart Holder

Summary
  • Fits 5 darts
  • Larger back cutout to push darts out easier
  • Container bottom is rounded to fit dart shape

Before designing, I first looked up the dimensions of the dart to estimate the size of the dart holder. Once I got that I could start working on modeling the dart on Onshape so that I can clearly see if the darts would actually fit the holder I wanted to design. To make the main holder design I used the dimensions of the dart and made the sketch slightly larger than that. Afterward, I extruded the sketch upwards a few inches and then hollowed it out to test to see how the darts would fit in the assembly. I did some tweaking with the height and I made the holder about the size of 5 darts because it wasn’t too much and it wasn’t too little. After figuring out the height I first made the holes for the darts. I made both the front dart hole and the back dart hole the same size at first but I later changed it so that the back dart hole would have a larger opening so that I could easily push the dart through the front with a finger. Something I also realized at this time was that with a square hole at the bottom the dart might rotate and get stuck so I also rounded the bottom hole so that the dart can fit snugly at the bottom and wouldn’t move around sideways. Overall it was very fun to make this design and even though it was annoyingly difficult to make the dart holes rounded the way I wanted them to, I still persevered and made something I am proud of. In the next devlog I think I want to add something to the design that is Mechanical and add more details/art on the design to make the holder look less bland. Thanks for reading and hope you have a good rest of your day! Until next time, bye!

Beginnings of My Chicken Game

So far in my WarioWare-Style Game I have added the title screen, level screen, timer scene and player scene. I decided to make the game themed on chickens. For the backgrounds I used stock images from online, used chicken eggs for the lives and made the player a chicken image from online. The buttons on the title screen don’t work yet, but I will change them later to make them do something. I ended on making the parallax background and next I plan to add the player character to the minigame scene and finish that platformer minigame.

I created the title screen with two funtional buttons, the start and quit buttons. When you press start it shows you a screen with five lives and the level number. I could not figure out how to get the customizable timer to work however. Then after a few seconds, it transitions to a screen that shows the player sliding across the screen, which I don’t think it’s supposed to do. I also can’t move the player and I don’t know how to make the platforms appear.
