Snooze lets you close a tab and pick when it comes back. In an hour, tonight, tomorrow morning, this weekend, next week. Tab disappears and reopens on its own.
Timing was annoying to get right. First version just added hours, so “tomorrow morning” meant 24 hours from now, useless if you snooze at 11pm. Now it resolves against the actual clock. Also had to catch presets landing in the past, like asking for “this evening” at 9pm, because then the alarm fires instantly and the tab just blinks.
Surviving a restart was the other problem. I went with setTimeout first which is completely wrong for MV3, the background worker gets killed and takes every timeout with it. Switched to chrome.alarms, which the browser re-delivers even after you quit Chrome. Added a startup check too since alarms can get missed if Chrome was closed when one was due.
Small fix: Find only worked with the mouse before. Arrow keys move through results now, Enter opens, Escape clears. If nothing matches, Enter falls through to AI search.
