No time left for luanti server programming :(
Context:
I am programming a server for Minecraft with a java library called Minestom. I plan to make a minigame server. The plan turned out to also now program functionality for supporting luanti/minetest players.
To be honest i don’t think i can make everything fully work with luanti until the end of stardance. That is why i will focus more on getting everything shipped now. Sadly only for Minecraft, so some of you can’t play :(.
But i want to still continue this project after stardance ends and maybe someday i get it to work.
The current state of luanti support
I managed to parse some more specific parts of each packet. But as you can see in the video i am not finished with the init sequence. What i have done is the init, authantication, version selection and some more smaller thingis. The rest would be to send over item, node, wheather, time etc. data which all use custom data objects and don’t have any documantation so i need to figure it out from like 6 different c++ files.
Minigames
I started programming on the server again. Now i have made a color party game where you have to stay on the right color and the rest disappears.
And I refined my snowball game, where you have to hit other players from the map. Now the snowballs automatically despawn.

What the hell was with last post? 200 views?!?! is it because i have an terminal emulator open? or because “server” is in the title? ;)
PS:
Had to post again because of time limit of 10 hours.

When you said “sadly only for Minecraft”. Did you mean Microsoft Windows
@Divij no. The server only supports Minecraft Java edition 26.2 . So as long as you have Minecraft Java edition, which you sadly need to pay money and have a microslop account, you should be able to play. I have planned to maybe place a reverse proxy in front of the instance i will host for the shipping which could use software like viaversion and geysar to also make it available to other versions of the game + bedrock edition.
The luanti server implementation would have made it possible for players to join using the luanti open source client formally known as minetest, which is free. However it is an entire other game and there are no translation layers made for those to. I tried making one here but it is a bit complicated to implement everything to satisfy the luanti client and thats where i am stuck and need a bunch more time to figure out. So i will have to only support Official Minecraft for now :(
oh ok i dont have java
