Arguably The Greatest OS Ever Built - UltronOS
Hi mates, This is hopefully the final devlog for this mission. I went absolutely all-in, so you might wanna watch the vid before reading. # link
🖥️ The Environment
The core environment is fully complete. Has proper windowing, desktop physics (selecting, moving, icons) and window dragging.
- Workspaces: You can now create 3 separate virtual desktops. You can work on completely different things across all three, and everything stays saved.
- Window Aesthetics: Applied glassmorphism with a 3D-like depth effect. Opacity and transparency are fully customizable and automatically adapt to the OS’s theme.
- Taskbar: Cleaned and functional. Show your pinned apps, the clock/date and essential system tray items.
- Widgets: Added a simulated weather widget, date, and a live audio visualizer that actually reacts to whatever system audio is currently playing !
- Boot Sequence: Features a terminal boot-up that transitions into a clean blur effect. I spent a crazy amount of time optimizing this animation.
🧠 Ultron AI Agent
I had to write some crazy math formulas to build the visualizations for this, but it runs efficiently now.
- Adaptive Animations: The AI visually reacts based on what it’s doing - it has distinct animations for processing, searching, talking, working and “angry” state.
- Voice & Logic: Uses optimized TTS for now. It understands 20+ basic commands, reacts to your inputs, and executes real work.
- System Integration: It doesn’t just talk; it can physically open applications, edit system settings and control the OS environment.
📦 The App Ecosystem
- Vibranium File Explorer: It’s real and it works. Features 5 base directories, file/folder creation, a great path UI, and an icon system tailored for different file formats.
-
Ultron Terminal: Fully functional with 13+ commands. Can trigger system-wide changes, and yes, I added
ultronfetchand amatrixdrop just to brag. - Code Studio: A universal text editor. Handles code, documents, and whatever else you throw at it (though it honestly makes for a really overpowered notes app, haha).
- SoundWave: A visually pleasing, simplified audio player. Ships with 2 goated songs, full playback controls (play/pause/replay/progress bar), and supports 5 different audio types with thumbnail rendering.
- System Telemetry (Task Manager): Tracks simulated system metrics with live graphs. It’s an actual functional task manager, you can use it to force-kill apps haha
- Chrome: A functional browser with a great UI. Performance is solid right now, but I plan to improve it in the next mission. (check it yourself…. hehehe)
- Camera: Fully functioning photo and video capture. Includes built-in filters (black & white, bluish tint), and lets you record, snap, and download your files locally.
- Calculator: Self-explanatory, but it perfectly matches the OS theme and includes both standard and scientific modes.
❤The Road Ahead - Web OS 2.0
I already have massive plans to improve this in the next iteration.
My primary focus will be upgrading the AI Agent with a custom, ultra-realistic TTS voice model and giving it 100% unrestricted command over the system while making it actually functional (i am pretty confident in my ai skills). I also plan to build out a truly native, fully functional browser that solves all header/CORS request problems so you have unrestricted access to the actual internet.
Thanks for following the journey!

Love the progress! Great work done!
Yoooooooo, it looks sick. I just dont like the tts thing when you do stuff, it would be better if you could turn it off
This looks really cool :)
thank you for support )))
@kakak_ well, the last time i used react , i couldnt get my project to deploy entirely… and I am not experiences with it either
